Abdul Raheem made these comments while speaking at a ceremony held at Villa College today to launch two new programmes that the college is now offering: Bachelor of Quantity Surveying and Bachelor of Political Science and International Relations.
In his speech, Abdul Raheem noted that President Dr Mohamed Muizzu makes policy decisions based on academic research. He emphasized the importance of academic research in developing the country in accordance with President Muizzu's methods.
The Speaker emphasized that the political science course offered by Villa College would present benefits in building future political leaders in the country.
Abdul Raheem went on to praise Villa College for their efforts to provide higher education in the Maldives, especially highlighting the role of founder Gasim Ibrahim.
"A Maldivian who has made the highest expenses of spreading education, and made the biggest sacrifices for this cause is none other than Gasim Ibrahim," the Speaker said.
