Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef arrived in Geneva, Switzerland, last night to attend a high-level event commemorating the 75th anniversary of the 'Universal Declaration of Human Rights,' an international convention on the protection of human rights.
According to the President's Office, the Vice President is scheduled to attend the opening ceremony of a high-level human rights dialogue, which is part of the High-Level Activities of Human Rights 75 organized by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and the Government of Switzerland.
The roundtable on "The Future of Human Rights, Environment, and Climate of the Human Rights 75 High-Level Event" will be attended by foreign dignitaries and heads of UN agencies. The Vice President is also scheduled to meet with the heads of various UN agencies.
Human Rights 75 events are scheduled to take place tomorrow and Tuesday.
The Vice President arrived in Geneva after concluding an official visit to the People’s Republic of China to attend the ‘China-Indian Ocean Region Forum on Development Cooperation’.
