The Rotary Club of Male (RCM), on January 11, hosted an International Joint Meeting with eight Rotary Clubs from Bangalore.
Representatives from the Rotary Clubs of Bengaluru Orion Gateway, Bangalore Metro, Rajajinagar, Greater Jayanagar, Sadashivnagar, Tiptur, and Nelmangala attended the meeting held at Champa Central Hotel in the capital city of Male’.
The 28 attendees included Club Presidents, Secretaries and first ladies of Seven Clubs from Rotary District 3190. Director of the Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) Dr Syed Tanveer Nasreen also participated in the event.
State Bank of India (SBI), Male' served as the main sponsor for the International Joint Meeting.
The event commenced with a welcome song presented by the ICC and an introductory speech delivered by the RCM President Aiman Jameel.
This was followed by a presentation by President of RC of Bengaluru Orion Gateway Shankar Srinivas concerning projects managed by Rotary District 3190.
Rotarian Aswatha Ramaiah, the main speaker for the session, delivered a session on the topic Joy of Service and Cultural Integration through Rotary.
The joint meeting concluded with dinner and a Maldivian Cultural presentation organized by the Indian Cultural Centre.
Highlighting the importance of cultivating and maintaining links between rotary clubs, RCM president Aiman stated, "Rotary is built on connections and it is the strength of these connections within our membership, our community and fellow rotarians from around the globe that is the key to our success".
