Stand Up for Our Seas team and Parley Maldives conduct a presentation for the students of Baa Atoll Education Centre who later joined the team for a beach clean-up.
The Stand Up for Our Seas team partnered up with Parley Maldives on Wednesday to deliver a presentation to the students of Baa Atoll Education Centre in Eydhafushi, and conduct a beach clean-up.
Commencing at 0700 hours, Stand Up for Our Seas and Parley respectively covered 30 minutes of the one-hour presentation, which was attended by students of grade 1-3.
Afterwards, the same pupils participated in the clean-up and helped gather waste from the beach and around the jetty of Eydhafushi, the administrative capital of Baa Atoll.
Parley had prepared paddleboards specifically to collect bottles and plastic waste from the island's lagoon.
The team arrived at Eydhafushi during the late hours of Tuesday and decided to depart after concluding their scheduled activities in order to cover maximum distance before wind speeds picked up.
The four environmentalists began paddling towards their next stop, retro-chic Finolhu, sister property to Amillafushi.
