A Bangladeshi man working at the Pakistani restaurant, Khanji, in Hulhumale' has been stabbed to death.
Hulhumale' Hospital said that the man died shortly after arriving at the ER around 5:30 pm.
The suspect is Muhammad Abid, 26, a Pakistani chef of the recently opened restaurant. He fled the the scene and was in hiding. Police has asked for the help of general public to apprehend the suspect and cautioned not to approach him.
It took several hours to locate and arrest him.
"The suspect is deemed dangerous and we urge public not to approach him and call 119 if seen. 2/2and call 119 if seen." Maldives Police Service tweeted.
According to some the suspect had a history of angry outbursts ,including violently attacking colleagues.
Eyewitnesses told Mihaaru News that the victim has stab wounds on the neck and head. Police are yet to comment on the case.
