Thazkiya claims gold in Thailand Swimming Championship: Shaiha, Rihan and Meral win silver

Amna Thazkiya Mirsaad has won a gold, two silver and two bronze medals at the Asian Open Schools Invitational (AOSI) Short Course Age Group Swimming Championships held in Bangkok, Thailand while Mohamed Rihan Shihan won three silver medals.

Amna Thazkiya Mirsaad has won a gold medal at the Asian Open Schools Invitational (AOSI) Short Course (25m) Age Group Swimming Championships held in Bangkok, Thailand.

Two teams representing Maldives, New Lagoon Swimming Club and the Lifeguard Association had competed in the tournament.

New Lagoon athletes had won a total of 11 medals.

Aishath Shaiha Shafiu who won silver and bronze at the Asian Open Schools Invitational (AOSI) Short Course (25m) Age Group Swimming Championships held in Thailand.

Thazkiya, a member of New Lagoon, claimed gold in the 100m freestyle event and secured two silver medals in the 200m freestyle and 50m freestyle events. She also won two bronze medals in the 50m butterfly and 200m individual medley events.

Meanwhile, Aishath Shaiha Shafiu, also from New Lagoon had won a silver medal at the 200m breaststroke event and secured bronze during the 100m breaststroke event as well.

Meral Ain Athif who clinched silver and bronze medals at the Asian Open Schools Invitational (AOSI) Short Course (25m) Age Group Swimming Championships held in Thailand.

Lifeguard Association's Mohamed Rihan Shihan earned three silver medals and one bronze medal. His silver medals were won in the 50m breaststroke, 100m butterfly stroke, and 100m breaststroke events, while the bronze was secured in the 200m freestyle event.

Meral Ain Latheef, also from the Lifeguard Association, earned silver at the Championship with a time of 1 minute and 14.7 seconds in the 100m individual medley event. She also secured bronze medals in the 100m and 50m butterfly events.

Lifeguard Association's Daniyal Ameen Faisal had also won bronze at the 50m butterfly stroke event.

New Lagoon Mens Team who secured silver at the 50x4m relay event during the Asian Open Schools Invitational (AOSI) Short Course (25m) Age Group Swimming Championships held in Thailand.

Additionally, New Lagoon's Looth Mohamed Hussain secured two bronze medals in the 200m breaststroke and 25m breaststroke events. He also contributed to New Lagoon's silver medal in the 4x50m relay event.

Ibrahim Maadh Sajid, also representing New Lagoon, claimed bronze in the 100m and 200m breaststroke events and contributed to his club's silver medal in the relay event.

In addition to Looth and Maadh, Izyan and Haamy had also contributed in winning silver for their team at the relay event.
