President Solih appoints new deputy minister of health

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih appointed Aboobakuru Abdul Kareem as the Deputy Minister of Health on Sunday.

Aboobakuru Abdul Kareem, who holds an Advanced Certificate in Community Health, is currently enrolled in Diploma in Office Management, per the President's Office.

He was previously a director of the Juvenile Justice Unit at the Ministry of Home Affairs. He also formerly served as a director at the Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services.

Presently, deputy ministers receive a monthly remuneration of MVR 30,500, comprising a basic salary of MVR 18,000 and allowances of MVR 12,500.
