President Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed, on Friday, attended an honorary state banquet hosted by President of Seychelles Danny Faure.
Following President Faure's welcome speech, President Solih addressed the attendees, remarking on the historical ties between the two countries.
Thanking the Seychellois government for the hospitality accorded to the Maldivian delegation during their ongoing state trip to the country, President Solih expressed hopes of reciprocating the warm treatment in the future.
The president further remarked on the productivity of his visit, highlighting numerous fields in which Maldives and Seychelles agreed to collaborate.
The two governments signed a Memorandum of Understanding concerning general cooperation, tourism development, foreign ministry cooperation and collaboration within spheres such as sports, blue economy, fisheries, climate change and vocational training for youth.
President Solih welcomed the Seychellois government's decision to formalize bilateral cooperation across a wide range of spheres that would mutually benefit citizens of both nations.
