Maldives Meteorological Center (MET) on Thursday launched a mobile application that provides information about weather.
The “Moosun” (weather) app was launched by Minister of Environment Dr Hussain Rasheed Hassan.
The ceremony was held at Environment Ministry.
Moosun application can now by downloaded via Google Play and AppStore.
This app developed with foreign aid from Italian government aims to provide weather related information to the public through modern technology.
This project was specifically targeted to change the existing weather alerts by MET to Common Alerting Protocol (CAP). This system is used all over the world.
The Moosun app provides daily weather updates, forecasts as well as latest radar and satellite photographs and even earthquake updates.
