Dhiraagu extends support to Maldivian Special Olympic team

Dhiraagu has extended its support to the Maldivian team participating in the upcoming Special Olympic Games. In a ceremony held at the Maldives National Sports Institute, Dhiraagu presented the athletes with a travel kit and jerseys to prepare them for the event.

The ceremony was attended by Ali Riyaz, the Chief Commercial Officer of Dhiraagu, who represented the organization, and the Minister of Youth and Sports, Ahmed Mahloof, who handed over the jerseys to the athletes.

Minister Mahloof praised the remarkable efforts of the Special Olympics team and expressed gratitude towards Dhiraagu for their valuable support. He emphasized the importance of empowering athletes with special needs and promoting their active participation in sports, leading to personal growth and community inclusivity.

Ali Riyaz, the Chief Commercial Officer of Dhiraagu, emphasised the company's dedication to fostering inclusivity within the community. He stated that the support extended to the Maldivian Special Olympic team was part of their broader objective to create a more inclusive society, where everyone has equal opportunities to thrive and succeed.

Chairperson of Special Olympics Maldives, Shaina Abdulla expressed gratitude to Dhiraagu for their consistent support, which has played a pivotal role in enabling the growth and development of Special Olympics in the Maldives. She also highlighted Dhiraagu's Special Sports Festival, which not only serves as a platform for athletes to showcase their skills but also encourages them to pursue careers in sports, fostering self-confidence and personal growth.

The Special Olympic Games, known for promoting inclusivity and celebrating the sporting talents of individuals with special needs worldwide, will feature participants from various nations. This year, the Maldivian team will compete in badminton and running events, showcasing their exceptional skills and determination.
