The deceased is reported to be a local man from Thaa atoll Thimarafushi.
A Maldivian national has been found dead inside a hotel in Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand.
Agencies have not yet officially publicized the local man's passing in Bangkok which is a frequent destination for Maldivians.
However, Mihaaru News reported that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has informed the family of the deceased, a resident of Thaa atoll Thimarafushi, about the incident.
Thai police are currently investigating the incident. In line with Thailand’s previous practices in such cases, a postmortem is expected to determine the cause of death.
The Maldives Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not yet commented on the matter.
