MATATO said that the Guesthouse Association, in collaboration with MMPRC, will host three roadshows from July 22 to July 26. The roadshows will be held in Bengaluru, Mumbai, and New Delhi in India.
Special events will be arranged in July to increase the number of tourist arrivals from India.
Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) said that the Guesthouse Association, in collaboration with the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), will host three roadshows from July 22 to July 26.
The roadshows will be held in Bengaluru, Mumbai, and New Delhi in India.
MATATO added that these events are organized to boost tourist arrivals to the Maldives from India. During the roadshows, travel packages and essential information about the Maldives tourism industry will be shared. Participants will include resorts, guesthouses, safaris, and tour operators.
Tour operators from India will also participate in the roadshows.
Last year, the Maldives recorded its highest number of tourist arrivals from India, with over 200,000 tourists visiting from the country. However, this year has seen a significant decline, with only 57,000 tourists arriving from India so far. During the same period last year, approximately 100,000 tourists had visited the Maldives from India.
