Urbanco opens the co-working spaces created in redesigned cargo containers.
The container co-working space was developed in Hulhumalé 1, located behind RedWave Mega Mall. On Wednesday, September 5, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Economic Development inaugurated the first block of the container park initiative.
The project is a collaboration between Urbanco and Ministry of Economic Development.
The ministry said tha the co-working spaces were developed to allow small-to-medium (SME) tier businesses to operate adequate venues for their businesses and startups to grow.
The co-working space features 16 work stations with a meeting room.
Urbanco added that the modern container park developed under an artistic plan would feature a takeaway café and fast-food outlet in the future.
Working spaces from the container park will be issued free of charge during the one-month trial. The spaces will be available on public work days between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Urbanco said the co-working space park would boost the productivity of local youths.
