A software is being developed to improve the transparency of services provided by the Ministry of Transport.

The ministry's Deputy Minister Saudullah Ahmed told Miharu News that changes are being made to the services provided to bring ease for the public. The software will be available next month, he said.

The services of the Ministry of Transport are currently provided through a portal. However, the software is being developed by a consultant.

Saudullah said the software would address one of the most common complaints about the ministry, which is corruption, and provide services in a transparent manner.

“The registration complaints we are seeing now will also be alleviated when the software becomes operational,” he said.

While software has been developed to provide transport services, the issue of vehicle registration has grown. So far, the registration of about 200 vehicles have been cancelled, of which 87 have been ordered to be stayed after the owners filed the case in the Civil Court.

Deputy Minister of Transport Hamad Abdul Ghani told Miharu News last week that the vehicles were registered by forging signatures. Therefore, the order will be rejected and the civil court case will be appealed, Hamad said.

However, Saudullah said the courts’ verdicts should be respected.
