Representatives of leading travel agencies from India arrives in the Maldives under the invitation of Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporations (MMPRC) for a tourism familiarization trip.
The delegate of top travel agency representatives arrived on July 16, Saturday and will explore various high-profile tourist properties until July 22, Friday.
Among the entourage include representatives from top-notch vacation providers such as MakeMyTrip, I'm Travel Agent, Nivalink, Aspen Vacations and Holiday Karma.
The team will reportedly rest in top-tier properties which include Grand Park Kodhipparu, Crossroads Maldives and Hideaway Beach Resort & Spa.
MMPRC confirms the purpose of the familiarization trip remains to promote the island nation as a top-of-the-mind tourism destination.
Through the trip, the team will be "able to market Maldives' holidays with more precision and dedication after experiencing" the products and service standards of the country's tourism and hospitality offerings.
India remains a major focus of MMPRC to maintain destination momentum, which has paid off well with the country maintaining its top-rank position in the source markets list.
Among some of the prominent marketing efforts by the premier tourism promoter of the Maldives include a destination e-learning campaign with 2HUB and travel trade fairs such as OTM 2022, SATTE 2022 and the recently held TTF and MILT Congress 2022.
