Ahmed Alvin Mohamed Abbas was the lucky winner who received MVR 100,000 as a grand prize under the SIMDI Group's Ramadan Promotion 2024.
A lucky winner has been chosen in the special SIMDI Ramadan Promotion event held this year, receiving a total of MVR 100,000 as a grand prize.
Ahmed Alvin Mohamed Abbas,16, was selected as the winner during a grand lucky draw event held last Sunday.
He made his winning purchase at the SIMDI Recrea shop in Hulhumalé, where he bought Monin-brand syrup bottles and some basic necessities. He spent the minimum MVR 500 with the intention of participating in the Ramadan Promotion by SIMDI Group.
General Manager of SIMDI Group Yooshau Saeed handed over Alvin's winnings of MVR 100,000 to him during a special ceremony on Saturday.
Alvin said winning such a large sum was a source of major happiness for him, and that his current vision for the money was to invest it somewhere good and start a business.
SIMDI Group conducted this year's Ramadan promotion from February 13 to April 13, with every customer who spent more than MVR 500 at all SIMDI stores or through shopping with the SIMDI mobile app. Customers who participated in the promotion qualified for the grand prize lucky draw and stood a chance to win special gifts as they were issued by SIMDI Group weekly during the month of Ramadan.
SIMDI Group held the same promotion during Ramadan last year, with customers showing an outpouring of support for their MVR 100,000 grand lucky draw prize. SIMDI Group revealed that they had decided to host the same promotion during Ramadan in 2024 in light of the feedback and well-wishes received from customers for their initiative.
