Ministry of Economic Development announced that local councils will monitor 24-hour shops and restaurants.

The Ministry's Registrar of Companies, Mariyam Wisam, stated that the ministry is currently identifying locations to establish 24-hour shops and restaurants.

Wisam added that once councils identified such areas, the ministry would publicize the locations.

Furthermore, Wisam noted that although local councils will monitor the 24-hour establishments, the Ministry will retain the power to make decisions regarding the shops.

Re-opening 24-hour shops and restaurants is one of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's First '100-day' pledges.
