President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has welcomed the Gaza ceasefire deal which will bring an end to 15 months of genocide in Gaza.
In a post on social media X, the President recognized the efforts of all countries which worked towards facilitating the ceasefire deal.
He urged the international community to support the continuation of the ceasefire. At the same time, he called to allow all those who have been displaced to return to their homes and to provide humanitarian assistance to those affected.
President Muizzu went on to call on Israel to pay reparations to Palestine for all the loss caused over the past year and a half. He called on the international community to provide Palestine with the urgent assistance required to rebuild after the devastation caused by the Israeli aggression.
Maldives has continued to be a vocal supporter of the Palestinian cause, with President Muizzu and other State officials advocating for the same on various platforms.
