A 21-year-old pregnant woman was dead in Shaviyani atoll Milandhoo island late Saturday.
According to Maldives Police Service, Fathimath Sharma, who was six months pregnant, was found lying on the floor. Both mother and unborn child were pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
Police added that nothing suspicious was noted about the death. Doctors suspect that her death was caused by a heart attack.
Sharma was living with her mother while her father and husband are employed at a resort.
