The Ministry of Health has donated surgical equipment to 132 hospitals and healthcare centers across 15 atolls.

During a ceremony held at the Health Ministry, Health Minister Ahmed Naseem emphasized the progress made in the health sector. He said that significant efforts have been made to address and resolve major issues faced by healthcare workers, particularly the lack of surgical equipment and damaged equipment.

Minister Naseem said that a considerable number of equipment found in these facilities were sent approximately 13 years ago and have become excessively worn out and damaged over time.

"The biggest complaint from health workers during my trips to atolls is that these issues lead to difficulty in providing services," the Minister said, adding that this was an important step to improve the services provided by the healthcare facilities.
