President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has pledged to improve and develop Shaviyani atoll Feevah during his campaign trail to the island.

If re-elected for a second term in office, President Solih's plans for the island include modernizing major roads, executing a shore protection project to address erosion, and constructing recreational facilities such as an outdoor gym and a volleyball court for the island's 1,200 residents.

President Solih said that Feevah experienced significant neglect during Mohamed Nasheed's presidency. He added that the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) led government had only executed three projects on the island, after which the current government had to undertake several additional projects to ensure that residents received the basic amenities.

Despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, President Solih said that a total of 13 developmental projects were successfully executed in Feevah.

Currently, the government has signed contracts to develop a football pitch and a youth center on Feevah Island. Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been contracted to develop a public beach on the island.

President Solih emphasized that the water and sanitation project, which began earlier on the island, is now nearing completion. He assured the residents of Feevah that they will receive access to clean water and improved sanitation services before the end of August.

In addition to the ongoing and completed projects, President Solih pledged to develop a multi-purpose hall and construct additional classrooms in Feevah School.

President Solih envisions a future where all local islands, including Feevah, are united in prosperity. He urged the public to vote for him in the upcoming elections to help turn this vision into a reality.
