Housing Ministry begins review of flat list complaints

Housing Ministry has stated that they have commenced reviewing the complaints submitted in response to the list of flat recipients under the Gedhoruveriya housing scheme.

The ministry received a total of 8,602 complaints regarding the list.

The ministry said that 4,652 persons had submitted complaints via the Gedhoruveriya Portal. As more than one complaint could be submitted by each person, a total of 5,236 complaints were received through the portal.

This includes 2,555 persons listed as eligible in the list.

The Housing Ministry is now reviewing these complaints.

An additional 2,840 complaints were submitted via email, and 526 as letters.

In the case of complaints submitted via email, the ministry will review complaints submitted by third parties concerning persons included in the list of recipients.
