Ithaafushi climbs service charge list in two months

Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi secured a position as the second-highest payer of service charge during its initial two months of operations.

As per the Maldives Serice Charge website, Ithaafushi distributed USD 832 (MVR 12,829) per employee as service charge in August which constitutes an increase of MVR 282 compared to the distribution rate of July.

Cheval Blanc Randeli topped the list last month, allocating USD 1,283.93 (MVR 19,844) per head as service charge. The figure represents a great increase as Randeli only ranked 40th in July after distribution of USD 400 (MVR 6,168) among employees.

Anantara Kihavah distributed USD 829.52 (MVR 12,791) in August and was ranked third.

St Regis Vommuli Resort, which ranked first in July dropped to fourth place despite upping the amount allocated as service charge. While Vommuli distributed USD 725.57 (MVR 11,188) in July, the figure increased to USD 811.86 (MVR 12,791) last month.

All resorts noted to have distributed service charge on the Maldives Service Charge website increased allocations compared to July. Figures stated on the website are sourced from resort workers.
