Cables of streetlamps near Food Court stolen

Cables of the streetlights near the Food Court in Male' have been stolen last night.

Male' City Council (MCC) stated that the cables of the lights on the Ring Road (Izzudeen Magu) near the Food Court have been stolen last night, and assured that work is ongoing to renew cables and bring the lights back into operation.

As seen in photos publicized by the MCC, the cables were stolen by removing the paving on the pavement in the fenced off area of Izzudeen Magu.

Besides this, the cables of the water motors in Sinamale' 3 flats were also stolen last night.

MCC said that the issue had now been addressed.

"People who commit acts like this need to be found and taken strict action against," the City Council said.
