Ooredoo hosts a special intergenerational Iftar for Senior Citizens in Addu under their campaign, "Israhvehinna Eku" to promote inclusivity and understanding between generations.
Ooredoo Maldives has hosted the first Iftar under the company CSR campaign for Ramadan "Israhvehinnaa Eku", loosely translated to "Together with Senior Citizens".
This special Iftar to celebrate the spirits of Ramadan was held in Addu City. The Iftars arranged to be hosted across multiple regions of the country under the "Israhvehinna Eku" program aims to offer a chance to foster connections between the youth and elderly while promoting understanding between the two generations, share thoughts and communicate to spend a jolly time.
In order to express support for this initiative, Mayor of Addu City, Ali Nizaar had also attended the Iftar.
Ooredoo has planned to continue organizing various activities under their CSR campaign "Israhvehinnaa Eku" throughout the year.
The theme set by the company this Ramadan to promote inclusivity of elderly in the community and encourage youth to build connections with elderly is "Recognizing senior citizens as the treasury of the nation". The company had additionally released a short film within this theme as well.
Ooredoo stated that the company's objective is to encourage further inclusivity of Senior Citizens in various aspects of the community through activities like this as well as creating a compassionate community where each individual is valued and respected.
