President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu said that the current administration will prioritize marginalized groups and govern the nation with their active participation.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of "Israhvehinge Naadhee" - the social centre for senior citizens in Malé, President Muizzu said that sidelining the elderly would come to an end with the establishment of senior citizens' social centers in different parts of the country.

“This government will mainstream prioritizing senior citizens," President Muizzu said.

In addition to senior citizens, this administration will prioritize a large number of people marginalized in society, such as those with special needs, and those who have previously not been adequately cared for by the government, he said.

"Our vision is to prioritize various marginalized groups and place them at a place of prominence in running the country," President Muizzu said.

The President stated that the government will also prioritize the provision of a necessary budget, resources, and job opportunities. He emphasized the importance of fostering a society of care and compassion.

"Efforts have been made to improve the collection of information on single mothers, individuals facing various forms of domestic violence, people in need of special assistance, and even senior citizens who are not given much attention and care," the President said.

He said that special attention would be given to marginalized groups participating in the housing projects of the current government, and a special bill will also be sent to the Parliament concerning the same.

"The society will prosper once housing issues are resolved, and people are given respect, priority, opportunities, and a voice," he said.

The former Quran Center on Ameer Ahmed Magu was converted into a social center for senior citizens and opened today. The establishment of such centers is a pledge in President Muizzu's first 14 weeks roadmap.
