Nepal Police Club had closed the final match held at Social Center's indoor court today with scores of 25-16, 25-22 and 25-23.
The club had triumphed all matches they played during the league rounds which saw participation from a total of six teams. Meanwhile, Humo VC had won four total matches, with both teams securing first and second place in the rankings respectively to advance to the finals.
Maldivian club, WAMCO had clinched victory against Sri Lankan Air Force yesterday evening during their match to determine the bronze winner, securing their victory 3-2 after a commendable comeback.
Sri Lankan Air Force had concluded the first two sets at scores of 25-11 and 25-17 with WAMCO later bridging this gap and securing the final three sets at scores of 25-13, 25-23 and 15-13.
Besides Sri Lankan Air Force, Club WAMCO had also defeated fellow local team, Police Club as well as Tajikistan's VC Diamond to emerge in third place. Sri Lankan Air Force had clinched a total of two matches and claimed fourth place in the rankings.
Police Club, who emerged in fifth place had triumphed over VC Diamond during their first match of the tournament.
The dream team of this tournament which was hosted in capital Male' City was WAMCO's outside hitter Kuttika Kaewpin, Nepal Police Club's outside hitter Usha Bhandari and middle blocker Regmi Sumitra alongside Shantikala Tamang in addition to Humo's middle blocker Boymizaeva Dilnoza, Sri Lankan Air Force's center Jayalath Thushari and Club WAMCO's opposite player Aitbekova Aiturgan.
The title of best player of the tournament was awarded to Usha Bhandari from Nepal Police Club.
