MACL is strengthening its fire response efforts at Velana International Airport.
Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has launched a basic fire fighting course to better prepare for potential fire incidents at Velana International Airport (VIA).
The company said that the 29th batch of the firefighter training course, which is approved by Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) will also cover aviation safety and emergency response.
While this batch will train 12 firefighters, the training covers fire response both at Velana International Airport and in aircrafts.
While MACL continues to train firefighters, the company recently opened a fire station at the airport, equipped with the latest technology. The company describes this as an addition to its efforts to respond quickly to emergencies.
