Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Ahmed Ali, has been placed on a 30-day suspension from the Ministry.
It has been revealed that he was suspended following serious complaints filed by a private individual to the Civil Services Commission (CSC). Although he remains on the payroll during the suspension, further details are not yet available.
Ahmed Ali assumed the position of Permanent Secretary of Education on June 13, 2019, and has five months remaining in his five-year term.
Since this government came to power, he has not attended public meetings held by the education ministry.
Despite his absence from public meetings, Education Minister Ismail Shafeeu told Mihaaru News today that no issues have been identified with PS Ahmed Ali since he assumed office.
The minister described him as "very cooperative."
