Ministry of Education on Thursday decided to halve the annual school holidays to two parts in a notable alteration brought to the usual academic year calendar.
According to a statement released by the ministry, the first part of the annual holidays will be from May 31, 2020, to 11 June, 2020, while the second part of the holidays runs from December 6, 2020, to January 7, 2021.
The ministry announced that these changes were made to provide a chance for parents working in the tourism sector to spend time with their families, as the current holiday period coincides with the peak season for the tourism industry.
In addition, Education Ministry stated that the alteration will grant some ease to parents working in other fields to go on holiday as well.
