The company said that, like in previous years, they are prepared to make Ramadan goods easily accessible this year as well. Based on previous experiences, STO said they have planned to provide favorable options for individuals and businesses with special attention this year.
"We will regularly monitor market price changes, identify items with increasing prices, and find quick solutions," STO said.
Currently, coconut prices in the market range between MVR 10 and 25. However, STO aims to import coconuts from abroad and sell them at affordable prices.
The first batch of coconuts imported by STO has already arrived from India. STO said these coconuts will be available for sale through STO People's Choice starting today.
STO has set the price of coconuts at MVR five this time.
The company also said that lemon imported by STO will be available at STO People's Choice stores starting today.
STO has prepared to import food items divided into four categories. These are:
Staple Food Items: Onions, Potatoes, Coconuts, Dates
Fresh Vegetables and Fruits: Cucumber, Ginger, Lemon, Carrots, Oranges, Cabbage, Chilli, Green Chili, Pumpkin, Mango, Passion Fruit, Cucumber
Processed Foods: Nestle Cream, Cocoa Powder, Baked Beans, Canned Milk
Cooking Ingredients: Sunflower Oil, Vegetable Oil, Basmati Rice
