The repairment of the lighting system in Galolhu National Stadium has been entrusted to Sifainge Welfare Company (SIWEC).

The project was appointed to SIWEC with an allocation of MVR 3.9 million and a stipulation of concluding the repairment in 30 days.

The National Football Stadium’s lighting system, supervised by the Sports Ministry, was last repaired for the 2023 SAFF Championships.

The Stadium’s faulty lighting system had hindered matches during last season. Due to all the lights in the Stadium malfunctioning minutes after the second half of the match played between Maziya Sports & Recreation and Buru Sports Club in the second round, the play was interrupted. The match had resumed 32 minutes later with a temporary solution.

Later, the matches of the league were rescheduled to be held during late afternoon due to the failing lights. The current matches of the Second Division playoffs are also scheduled for the afternoon due to the malfunctioning light systems in the Stadium.
