Investigations launched into Thoddoo Council President's abuse

The council president said it was not a case of sexual abuse.

Police have launched an investigation into allegations against Thooddoo Council's President Ahmed Karam, who is accused of abusing a Thai woman who works in the island.

Police said they were alerted to the alleged abuse of the Thai woman by her sponsor on Thursday. Local reports say she works at a guesthouse owned by Karam.
