Deadline to submit complaints regarding flat list extended by one day

Ministry for National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure has extended the deadline to submit complaints regarding the permanent list of awardees of the first 4,000 flats under the “Gedhoruveriyaa” housing scheme.

Housing Ministry’s State Minister and Chairman of the Flat Committee said the deadline has been extended as per the people’s request. The deadline has been extended up until Friday, November 10.

Following a surge of complaints regarding lack of transparency in the awarding of points, the Ministry decided to publish the details on their portal. As soon as the information was made public, there were instances of the Gedhoruveriyaa portal going down as a large number of people used the portal at the same time yesterday.

There are around 20,000 people on the flat list. The ministry said it will respond to all complaints within 24 hours.

There are 13,000 eligible applicants in the permanent list of the homemaker scheme announced by the government. Out of these, those who will get the first 4,000 flats allotted by the present government have also been determined. The 4,000 flats will be allotted to those who have applied for a three-room flats and received more than 76 points. Those who applied for a two-room flat were those who scored above 73 points.
