Ooredoo’s “Fun Run” receives warm reception

The recently held "Fun Run", an upgrade of Ooredoo’s previously organized annual “Color Run” was well received by participants of the event.

This is the first run held by Ooredoo Maldives since the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.

According to the telecom provider, over 5,000 runners took to the streets at Hulhumale’ on Friday, December 23. The five kilometer run saw several high-profile athletes from the Maldives taking part in the event as well.

Maldives Vice President Faisal Naseem alongside Minister of Environment, Climate Change and Technology Aminath Shauna, Ooredoo Maldives’ Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Khalid Al-Hamadi and the company’s Chief Commercial Officer Hussain Niyaz had taken pictures with participants to kick off the run.

The event ran simultaneously with entertainment including music performance, water and foam parties as well as dry colors.

Speaking about the event, Ooredoo Maldives’ Managing Director and CEO said the "Fun Run" was organized to provide a fun-filled event for families and loved ones to get together and enjoy, and conclude the year on a colorful note.

Ooredoo Maldives organized the "Fun Run" and previously, the ‘Color Run’ to promote healthy and active lifestyle in the community. The company also confirmed it will host another edition of the event in 2023, with the run hosted across the country.
