In a post shared this morning, Bank of Maldives (BML) said that their mobile app and internet banking services are currently out of service due to technical issues. The bank apologized for the inconvenience, while assuring that services would be restored as soon as the issues are resolved.
In addition to the app and internet banking services, many of the BML ATMs placed around Male' are also temporarily out of service.
The app had been down for about three hours last Thursday as well, posing inconvenience to many customers.
Parents attempting to buy interval food for school students were also waiting in shops this morning with payments via cash cards and bank transfers being out of service.
BML earlier said that their services had been affected on Thursday by a cyber attack on Microsoft. As a result, online transactions using cards issued by the bank were also facing interruptions.
BML has not so far disclosed reasons behind the current service interruptions on their mobile app and internet banking.
