The work hours of technical staff at the Ministry of Health has been extended.
In an internal memo issued by the ministry on Wednesday, they stated that all staff who received increments under the new pay framework would be required to work from 8 AM to 4 PM effective from December 1.
While this change has been communicated internally, no changes have yet been brought to the official working hours of the government. The official working hours remain as 8 AM to 2 PM.
The Health sector workers salary was increased on May 1, 2023, inclusive of technical staff working at the Health Ministry.
As per Mihaaru News, the Ministry has brought this extension into effect without any deliberations with the Civil Service Commission (CSC). However, there are concerns that this is not a decision that the ministry can make unilaterally.
No details about the matter have yet been obtained from either the CSC or the Health Ministry.
