VP urges to teach children road safety

Vice President Faisal Naseem, on Thursday, called upon Maldivians to set an example for children to obey road safety rules.

The Vice President made the appeal during the launching of the National Road Safety Action Plan.

Highlighting the rise of road accidents in Maldives each year, the Vice President underlined the importance of adhering to road safety measures for drivers and pedestrians alike.

Additionally, he expressed that it was upsetting to witness individuals losing their lives or suffering lifelong disabilities because of negligence, further urging all state institutions to cooperate in the implementation of the recently launched action plan.

VP Naseem noted that a large percentage of youth was among those who met with road accidents in the country, and implored all youth to be more attentive and careful while on roads.
