The Ministry of Finance is seeking contractors to establish water and sewerage systems in 17 islands, and develop roads in eight islands.
Water and sewerage systems are to be developed in:
- Uligan, Haa Alif Atoll
- Nolhivaran, Haa Dhaal Atoll
- Kurinbi, Haa Dhaal Atoll
- Morashi, Shaviyani Atoll
- Komandoo, Shaviyani Atoll
- Kanditheemu, Shaviyani Atoll
- Foakaidhoo, Shaviyani Atoll
- Kendhikulhudhoo, Noonu Atoll
- Alifushi, Raa Atoll
- Angolhitheemu, Raa Atoll
- Vaadhoo, Raa Atoll
- Rasgetheemu, Raa Atoll
- Vandhoo, Thaa Atoll
- Kandudhoo, Thaa Atoll
- Kinbidhoo, Thaa Atoll
- Hithaadoo, Baa Atoll
- Kanduhulhudhoo, Gaaf Alif Atoll
Meanwhile, road construction projects will be carried out in:

The government allocated MVR 6.6 billion in this year’s state budget for the Public Sector Investment Program, under which there are 315 new prospects and 229 ongoing projects.
MVR 1.3 billion is allotted to fund 120 water and sewerage related proposals, and MVR 5.59 million for 51 land reclamation and highway development projects.
