Police have stated today that two persons have fled the scene after a hit and run accident where a motorcycle hit a woman sweeping the streets of Male' last night.

Police said that the injured is a 48 year old woman who was sweeping Izzuddeen Road when she was hit by a speeding motorcycle. She is currently receiving treatment in IGMH.
Police said they received reports of the incident at around 23:30 hrs on Thursday night.
Both the driver and the passenger of the motorcycle fled the scene, they said.
"Police are currently undertaking efforts to identify the motorcycle and individuals involved," a Police Media Official said.
