In response to inquiries made under the Right to Information (RTI) Act, it was revealed that the CCU on the 11th floor of Dharumavantha Hospital, often considered ideal, is not operating at its full capacity due to pending work for completion.

Previously, the CCU was repurposed as an ICU for treating COVID-19 patients, but it was temporarily discontinued on January 21, 2021. Subsequently, on September 20, 2023, it resumed operation to care for the most critical patients.

Presently, the CCU is functioning as part of IGMH's CCU to manage daily procedures.

Dharumavantha Hospital's CCU, with 10 beds, currently only utilizes four of them, split into two shifts, while the remaining six beds remain unused due to ongoing preparations.

The response to the RTI inquiry clarified, "The CCU of Dharumavantha Hospital on the 11th floor is not fully operational at the moment due to financial constraints and ongoing technical preparations."

A doctor at IGMH commended the high quality of Dharumavantha Hospital's CCU but expressed concern that it has not been fully operational despite an extended period of underutilization. He noted that there are instances when ICU beds at IGMH are fully occupied, requiring patients to wait until they stabilize for transfer.

He added, "When we request patient transfers from other hospitals, we often receive responses indicating that ICU beds are already occupied."

IGMH currently has approximately 14 beds in its ICU.
