A Maldivian pilgrim who attended this year’s Hajj pilgrimage through the Maldives Hajj Corporation has passed away in Saudi Arabia.
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs confirmed that the pilgrim was Ali Hassan, a local from Dhaalu atoll Maaenboodhoo. He passed away while being treated at Saudi German Hospital. The authority however did not state what he was being treated for.
This is the second local pilgrim to pass away in Saudi Arabia this year. Earlier, Mohamed Ali, 72, who went for the pilgrimage through Al-Haramain Hajj group was found dead near Noor (Hiraa) mountain on June 30.
