These countries include Malaysia, Sri Lanka, India, and the United Kingdom.
Ministry of Homeland Security and Technology is preparing to make national ID card services available in countries most frequently visited by Maldivians.
According to information published on "Sarukaaru" website, the Department of National Registration (DNR) is working to expand ID card printing services across all islands of Maldives this year.
In addition, the service will soon be launched in countries frequented by Maldivians.
These countries include Malaysia, Sri Lanka, India, and the United Kingdom.
The ministry also announced that ID card printing services will be launched in four additional islands this month; Shaviyani atoll Funadhoo, Shaviyani atoll Milandhoo, Noonu atoll Velidhoo, and Meemu atoll Muli.
DNR has already begun ID card printing services in 15 islands, in partnership with respective island councils.
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu had pledged to ease the process of obtaining ID cards and passports by eliminating the need for people to travel to Male'. These services are now also available in Hulhumale' and Vilimale'.
