Dhihdhoo took the lead at first, with Hussain Shifah scoring a goal at the 20th minute.
Meedhoo caught up fast, with Adam Imran scoring a goal less than five minutes later.
Imran also scored the second goal for the team and went on to be named Player of the Match.
In the second half, the game was led by Meedhoo, with the second goal having been scored in the 57th minute.
But as the match neared its end, Adam Naseem scored a second goal for Dhihdhoo at the 75th minute, leading to a tie.
Even as the first round of the Gold Cup is nearing completion, from Group A, only Fuvahmulah has secured a spot in the second round through winning all their matches and ranking first in the group.
If either team had managed to win last night's match, they would have made it to the second rounds. But with this tie, they will now each have to play one more match.
Even if the teams receive equal scores in Saturday's matches, both will make it to the second round. On Saturday, Meedhoo will play against Kuda Huvadhoo. Dhihdhoo will face Faresmaathodaa.
