The Male' City Council (MCC) is inviting participants to join its annual Quran and Madhaha competitions, which are held during Ramadan.
The Quran competition includes two categories: recitation with the Quran in hand and recitation from memory, each with six age groups. Similarly, the Madhaha competition also features six age groups:
- Under 6 years
- Under 9 years
- Under 11 years
- Under 13 years
- Under 16 years
- Under 19 years
Participants under the age of six will not be judged. However, the top five students in each age group will be recognized, with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in each category.
Age categories for both competitions are determined based on the participant's age as of the 1st of the previous month.
Prizes for the Quran competition in each age group include:
- 1st Place: Trophy, certificate, and MVR 8,000
- 2nd Place: Trophy, certificate, and MVR 6,000
- 3rd Place: Trophy, certificate, and MVR 4,000
Overall winners of the Quran competition will receive:
- 1st Place: Trophy, certificate, and MVR 25,000
- 2nd Place: Trophy, certificate, and MVR 15,000
- 3rd Place: Trophy, certificate, and MVR 10,000
Similarly, prizes for the Madhaha competition in each age group are:
- 1st Place: Trophy, certificate, and MVR 7,000
- 2nd Place: Trophy, certificate, and MVR 5,000
- 3rd Place: Trophy, certificate, and MVR 3,000
Overall winners of the Madhaha competition will receive:
- 1st Place: Trophy, certificate, and MVR 10,000
- 2nd Place: Trophy, certificate, and MVR 7,000
- 3rd Place: Trophy, certificate, and MVR 5,000
The registration period for both competitions is open from today until the 6th of the March.
