A man has been arrested in connection with the smuggling of 1.1 kilograms of drugs into the Maldives through courier.
Customs reported that the drugs were recovered from the package, which arrived through post on January 2, during further searches following an investigation on suspicion that the drugs were hidden in it.
The drugs weighed 1.1 kg and tested positive for Synthetic Cathinone, customs reported.
A 20-year-old Maldivian man, who had gone to collect the package, was arrested in connection with the case.
Customs said that the police are further investigating the case.
