Police have rearrested the suspect released in the case of the kidnapping in Male' City.
While two suspects had been arrested in the case where a foreigner had been kidnapped and held in a Male' guesthouse for a week, the Criminal Court released one suspect, and ordered the other to be held in remand in custody for a period of ten days.
The man who was released then has been apprehended by police again. The Police said tonight that the 30 year old man has now been placed in 15 days custody by the Court while the investigation proceeds.
The victim, a Nepalese man, had been rescued by police on last Friday from the guest house named 'Sky Land', located in Maafannu ward of Male' City. The two persons arrested in relation to the case are both from Bangladesh.
Although further details of the case have not been released, police said earlier that the reasons behind the kidnapping are related to disputes over money.
