Shamma appointed as Registrar of Companies

Mariyam Shamma Ismail has been appointed as the new Registrar of Companies.

Shamma, who has a background in law, previously served as the Consumer Ombudsman.

Shamma has been appointed to the role following the resignation of Mariyam Visam, who stepped down on March 1 after serving as Registrar for 11 years.

Visam resigned to pursue a career in the private sector.
