A fire broke out in Reethi Beach Resort's powerhouse on Saturday, cutting off electricity from the whole island.
According to a resort worker, the fire started around 10:50 a.m. in the morning. He also revealed that during the fire, the walls and roof of the powerhouse fell.
The fire has now been contained by the resorts fire team.
Reethi Beach was accommodating over 200 guests when the fire broke out.
The cause of the fire has not been identified yet and the amount of damage caused is not known as well.
This incident comes soon after a massive fire destroyed numerous water villas in Gili Lankanfushi Resort.
