Maldivian bodybuilder, Azneen has won three South Asian Bodybuilding Championship and set a record of becoming the only athlete in the country to claim gold medals in three successive competitions.
Maldivian athlete, Azneen Rashad has obtained gold medals in three successive competitions of the South Asian Bodybuilding Championship and set a record.
With his gold medal in the 170cm Sports Physique of the South Asian Bodybuilding Championship currently ongoing in Maldives, Azneen has become the sole athlete to claim gold medals in three South Asian Championships successively.
National Champion of the country's Sports Physique, Azneen had also emerged the winner in the South Asian Championships held in Nepal in 2022 as well as the Championship held in Maldives last year.
With this recent gold medal in this year's competition, Azneen has claimed a proud and unprecedented honor in the country; becoming the first Maldivian athlete to claim gold medals in three successive competitions. Azneen hopes to carry this streak begun during the 2022 Asian Championships held in the Maldives, all the way to the World Championships set to be held in the country this year.
"That is my next hope; to claim gold medal once again in the World Championships held in Maldives this year," said Azneen.
The events of the South Asian Bodybuilding Championship was officially begun yesterday. During the competition, Maldivian bodybuilding athletes, Fathuhulla Mohamed and Shaheen Ibrahim Didi had also acquired gold medals in their respective events.
